New
for 2008 the Arso Vertitus Trail Race replaces the previous East Lomond
Hill Race although the race venue at Craigmead remains the same.
The
race starts with a loop of the grass area adjacent to Craigmead car
park. From Craigmead, head down through the super-scenic Maspie Den. Once at the
bottom of the Den there is another loop around the playing fields of the
Jacobean-style Falkland House built between 1838-44 by William Burn.
Enjoy
the lovely flora and fauna as the path ambles back up through this
picturesque natural ravine, over small wooden bridges and under the
extraordinary undercut Yad Waterfall as you head towards the finish at
Craigmead.
The
course is slightly undulating on recently constructed good quality trails
and woodland paths.
Car-sharing
is advised at this race as parking is severely limited.
