The race is run over the Lomond Hills in mid-winter and will require full
body cover (waterproof top & bottoms, hat & gloves) to
be carried or worn at all times. A map of each leg (1:50,000 OS sheet No
58 and 59) and compass and whistle must also be carried. There will be
compulsory kit checks at each stage changeover and any team failing to
comply will be disqualified. The race consists of 3 hill legs and one
trail leg, leg 4. You will need some experienced hill runners who must be capable of navigation
(especially legs 1, 2 & 3) in the hills
in adverse weather. Short weather courses may apply in bad weather.
Note:
Although the
checkpoint at the top of West Lomond is not manned, it is against the
rules and spirit of the event if both runners do not summit, so any
substantiated reports of such an occurrence by any team will lead to their
disqualification.
All Entry Forms must be returned to Frank McLaren, 73 Rumdewan,
